Jihlava Polytechnic College donated this year's Christmas to the Jihlava Day and Weekly Residential Centre

On Wednesday, 14 December 2016, a traditional charity event "Christmas at the Polytechnic University of Jihlava" took place. This year the school supported the Day and Weekly Residential Centre Jihlava.

Introduction, the representatives of the students, the Rector of VŠPJ Associate Professor Václav Báča, the Councillor of the Vysočina Region Ing. Jana Fialová and Director of DTS Jihlava Mgr. Eva Pohořelá. At the event, the clients of the Jihlava residential centre performed with a drumming and singing performance (Drumband and the DTS Jihlava Singing Group), carols and Christmas songs were sung by the children's choir of the Křížová Primary School under the direction of Erik Landecki and a wind quintet from Telč played.

During the event, the attendees tried making Christmas decorations out of newspaper tubes (also used by DTS Jihlava in its work with clients), taking over legumes with the help of wooden sticks (Asian Cinderella) and playing musical instruments Drumband. Visitors of the event could also buy original products of DTS Jihlava clients made from various materials.

Participants of this year's Christmas at VŠPJ left not only with a pleasant experience of the performance, but perhaps with a fabric teddy bear or a beaded angel for the Christmas tree, along with a warm feeling of support for a good cause. At the end, the representatives of the school handed over the gifts (which were selected by the students and staff of the VŠPJ for this purpose) to the Jihlava residential home and to the clients directly present. In this way they helped to fulfil many Christmas wishes. Last year the school supported the Jihlava Regional Charity - Klubíčko.
